The Valencia MotoGP 2010 was won by Jorge Lorenzo, who took the Championship title in style. He had faced much threat from early race leader Casey Stoner, but eventually took his ninth victory of the season. Valentino Rossi had secured the last podium place in his last race with Yamaha. It was the first time for Lorenzo to take victory at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, despite his close encounter with Marco Simoncelli which seemed to cost him the race. Eventually he opened a gap of 5 seconds in the lead to take a flawless win.
